The Drive EZ kit takes total 5 to 6 hours for charging. Whereas, the travel EZ kit takes 8 to 10 hours for charging. And, there is also a speed limit that these EV kits offer. The top speed is limited to 80kmph commercial use, and 140kmph for private cars. The motor company has not yet announced the exact cost of the EV conversion kit. And, customers can get the EV conversion on booking and paying a token amount of Rs. 25000. Apart from that, there is also conversion kit for Tata Ace.

EV Conversion Kits Available -

For Tata Ace, the company offers two kinds of EV conversion kit. The kits are known with fancy names that is Shandaar and Damdaar. The range is somewhere around 80 to 100 km and for Damdaar the kits are for 160-190km. The charging time of shandaar kit is for 5 to 6 hours. It can also be charged quickly in just 2 hours but for that you will require a fast charger. Fast chargers are also available. The damdaar kit battery can be recharged in 6 to 8 hours. In the beginning the company is only taking orders for shaandaar kit EV conversion. And, the cost of this kit is around 4.5 to 5 lac.

As per the company, these EV conversion kits are plug in and play kits. Plus, this kit doesn’t require any kind of modifications. To install these kits, the internal combustion engine has to be removed. Some of the companies are even planning for a further development of charging infrastructure all over India. It also plans to set a dealer including charging network in Maharashtra in the next few months.
